Estructurar is a non-profit organization located in the eastern city of Bucaramanga that seeks to provide worker children with a comprehensive education that takes into consideration their particular needs and demands.

Conscious of the fact that thousands of children in Colombia do not attend school because their families’ dire economic circumstances force them to work, the Chamber of Commerce, Rotary Club of Bucaramanga and COMAVSA created Estructurar in 1987. The organization provides education to 430 boys, girls and young adults who work, and aims to promote and guarantee their rights as children.

The Center offers a full educational program, from elementary to secondary technical school, with an emphasis on design and graphic arts. In 2002 Estructurar saw its first graduating class and since then, approximately 20 to 25 young people step out of its doors every year, trained to work as skilled employees, having learned about ethics and values, and with a basic knowledge of science and technology. All of this has been achieved while the students worked a regular workday.

Estructurar's program is not only innovative but has been highly successful. It is certified by the State Department of Education, and was recognized by the World Trade Organization (WTO) as a successful experience in Latin America.

The Genesis Foundation is helping fund operational expenses on a per-child basis.
