In Nuestro Hogar’s nine homes throughout Colombia, abandoned children can find love, education, health care, psychological assistance, nutritional counseling, occupational therapy, as well as a roof over their heads, clothing, school materials, and recreational activities.

A non-profit organization founded in 1991, Nuestro Hogar provides shelter and education to over 170 boys and girls abandoned by their families. While the centers accept children between the ages of 2 and 12, if the children are not adopted once they have surpassed this age range, or if their family situations make their return home untenable, they remain at the home until the age of 18, acquiring job training skills to enter the workforce as adults.

Nuestro Hogar’s homes are located in Bogotá, Medellín, Pereira, El Doncello (Caquetá), Ibagué, Nariño (Antioquia), Marinilla (Antioquia), Cereté (Córdoba), and San Carlos (Córdoba).

A grant from the Genesis Foundation funded the construction of computer rooms and a computer-training program in five of the nine homes.
